My daughter married a very controlling man who degrades her and our grandsons and our family. Inappropriate remarkssexual overtones and abusive comments. We found out about her wedding on the internet and never even recieved an invitation. An e-mail from her telling us they are a package and all our nothing.
We always had a close relationship with her and he siblings until he came along and it seems almost like a " gaslighting" syndrome. he know gave her a tract phone and we cannot have the number. We were told we have to call him if we want contact.
We went to talk to her and he covered her ears saying "dont listen" When she ocassionally calls we here him "five minutes". I am angry that she allows this
I was diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing chemo
for 6 months she has had no contact…one e-mail"are you in remission"
The unreal support from others and not one card or call or birthday hi….
Now she is alienating our grandchildren. I still send cards and gifts but she wont even have themcall to say thank you.
we werein their life when she was a single mom doing everything for her and them. She has told us what wonderful grandparent and parent we are. And now this. It is heartbreaking.
I have come to the conclusion that we deserve more respect than that and although open to dialouge ( which she doesnt want ) I am not going to allow her to manipulate us through her children. We love our grandchildren and always will.
Our differences with her are one thing but our relationshipwas always strong with our grandchildren….they love us as well.
For my own health and sanity I have had to back off. I love them all and I pray for them every day ….enough is enough
Any thoughts…….mary
