Our daughter is an only child. Now I can see she is very self centered. It's to the point that her Dad says we need to put her out of our minds. I told him that that is not that easy (especially with 3 grandchildren). He says we have to- to keep it from killing us. Seems that we are both stressed. Imagine that! We took a week's vacation on a cruise to try to destress ourselves. We are 61 yrs old and are considering selling our house when we turn 62 and retiring to SC – we live in the Cincinnati, Ohio area now.

That sounds alot like what happened to my son, the "future" in-laws took control, there is nothing you can do, only she can wake up some day and make the changes. You need to take the anger and make it into some positive for you. Don't let her destroy your esteem, and life with the vindictive games. Buy the grandkids savings bonds, so they can have them after they are out of the house. If she won't let you see them, do something for their future, that she can't get to. At least you can send emails, texts etc. My son's girlfriend told him when they first got together, NO more facebook, myspace, texting etc. He did it, because she was so insecure, yea right, two years later, insecure my a…., she's a control freak.

We have asked to take Grandchildren to the Circus and were told No we must include parents. We did not get to see them Easter and daughter never called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. I emailed her Monday and told her that I hoped that she had a wonderful Mother's Day. I just can't believe that this is my daughter. I no longer know who she is since her wealthy inlaws pay for just about everything for their family. I guess she thinks that they are too good for us and the whole side of her family.
