why don't you give your grandchild a phone call and also send a birthday gift. I live far away from my grandson. We skype, send cards and telephone. I also bake cookies and send them to him for his birthday and christmas. I will keep doing that forever. It is up to me to communicate and keep in touch.

Our GD will be 6 in a couple of weeks. I want to acknowledge her birthday – but don't know how. I feel that my daughter might throw a card, gift, etc. out. Or she might even act as if it were from her. Any suggestions – I want GD to know that are thoughts are with her. My GS's birthday is just about a month away. This next week will be a tough one for my husband. He has his birthday and then Father's Day.
